🍰 Recipe: The Best Chocolate Cake
Ganache Frosting:
• 8 oz heavy cream
• 8 oz Ghirardelli chocolate chips
Heat cream until simmering, pour over chocolate chips, let sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until smooth. Chill for 1 hour, then whip until fluffy.
Cake Batter:
• 3 cups sugar
• 3 cups flour
• 1 ½ cups cocoa powder
• 1 tbsp baking soda
• 1 ½ tsp baking powder
• 1 ½ tsp salt
• 4 eggs
• 1 ½ cups buttermilk
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• ½ cup avocado oil
• 1 ½ cups warm water
Mix dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients and mix until smooth. Divide into two greased pans. Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes. Cool completely before frosting.
