John 14:6 How is Jesus the way? Christian Questions, Moments that Matter

We can begin to learn the meaning of Jesus being “the way” by drawing from his final hours with the disciples the night before his crucifixion. He gave them a profound invitation to walk the path he walked. Just a few highlights:

“The Way” is more than a path. It reflects Jesus as the journey, the method, and the destination. “The Way” is sacrificial. Even in betrayal and suffering, Jesus framed his mission as glorifying the Father.

“The Way” would be through a narrow gate and on a difficult road: Following Jesus requires purposeful sacrifice and perseverance as his path is challenging! Jesus protects us, and guides us, much like a shepherd guarding his sheep and this provides great comfort and encouragement along “The Way” for all of his followers.
