In this intimate interview with The Christian Post, filmed at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., Pastor Ezra Jin Mingri shares new details of his testimony and spiritual reflections while imprisoned with CP. His daughter, Grace Jin Drexel, translates.
On Oct. 10, 2025, police surrounded Pastor Jin's home in Beihai, China, and took him into custody in what observers called China's largest coordinated action against an urban house church in more than 40 years. He spent 266 days in an overcrowded detention center cell, with no Bible at first, relying on Scripture from memory. He was released to the United States in July 2026.
Pastor Jin talks about:
- The verse God gave him on his first day in prison (Jonah 2:4) and what he calls "God-poured words"
- The difference between suffering for our own sins and suffering for Christ's name
- How Zion Church grew from one Beijing congregation to more than 100 churches in over 40 cities
- His prayer that President Xi will stop the persecution of Christians
- What American Christians can do for the persecuted church
- Why he believes he will see China experience another enormous revival
