Ruth 2 opens on a woman with nothing left.

Her husband, gone. Her father-in-law, gone. Her brother-in-law, gone. She is a foreigner in a town where she knows no one, living with an aging mother-in-law and no provision on the table. She had prayed. She had grieved. And none of it put food in that house.

Then she said seven words that changed the entire course of redemptive history — and they were not a prayer.

Here is what almost no one realizes: God never directed one single step Ruth took while she was sitting down.

She walked out that door with no plan, no connections, and no idea whose land she was walking onto. And the text does something strange at that exact moment. It says her steps just happened to bring her to one particular field — out of every field in that entire region.
