Is Worry Stealing Your Peace? | A Prayer to Refocus on God

An unexpected bill arrives.

Your plans change.

And before you know it, your mind is racing through everything that could go wrong next.

In today's Your Daily Prayer, Rachel Wojo shares a relatable story about a broken garbage disposal and how it reminded her that peace doesn't have to depend on everything in life working perfectly.

Romans 8:6 tells us:

“The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.”

Paul's words remind believers that life in the Holy Spirit changes the way we approach our circumstances.

That doesn't mean problems disappear.

Or that we never feel stressed.

But it does mean we can turn to Christ for wisdom, perspective, and peace.

Maybe you're facing an unexpected expense.

Maybe your schedule is overwhelming.

Maybe one frustrating situation has taken over your thoughts.

Today, let's ask God to help us refocus.

Because as Rachel reminds us:

“My peace doesn't live under the sink.”

And yours doesn't have to depend on everything going according to plan, either.

Today's Prayer

Heavenly Father, when problems begin to consume my thoughts, help me turn my attention toward You. Give me wisdom to handle what needs my attention and peace when circumstances are beyond my control. Teach me to live with a mind shaped by Your Spirit rather than allowing worry to direct my day. In Jesus' name, amen.
