Is the Jewish nation really God's chosen people? Moments that Matter, Christian Questions
The beginning of Israel’s favor with God is traceable back to God’s unique relationship with Abraham. God told him to leave his father’s house and go to a land in an undisclosed location. Upon doing so, God promised blessing to he and his children, and that they in turn would bless all of humanity.
In a recent podcast we observed the logistical issues within this amazing promise. First, Abraham was 75 years old with no children. Second, he had no idea where he was going. However, God came through. Many years later Isaac was born and he had a son Jacob, who had 12 sons who became the nation of Israel. This all happened, just as God had promised.

Israel’s history of inconsistency in following God’s ways culminated in their rejection of Jesus, their long-awaited Messiah. They were now cast off from God’s favor. They lost their land and were dispersed throughout the world for centuries. Did this mean they forfeited God’s promise of blessing all the families of the earth?
