The 21st Century version of getting fired up is a far cry from what was known as “zeal” in the Bible. Now, it’s all about either strong positive or negative emotion that can lose control. While the Bible word is often used to describe things like jealousy and hatred, it has a VERY different positive meaning.

In a recent podcast we observed what biblical zeal really looks like. King David dedicated many years to getting the temple built. Though God told him it had to be built by someone else, David was unphased. He planned, gathered materials, and taught Solomon what needed to be done. THAT is zeal.
