Admit it or not, following Jesus is difficult. He taught that being his disciple meant living sacrificially and taking up our crosses daily. In our day, there is a pervasive belief that we should be able to have what we want, when we want, and how we want it. Living a sacrificial life is not socially acceptable.

In a recent podcast we observed that following all the teachings of Jesus is another level of challenge that many Christians may not even be aware of. One can easily go church shopping to find a church that suits them and makes them feel welcome and comfortable. A comfortable environment is okay. The more important issue is whether or not my church is accurately and diligently reflecting what Jesus taught.
