Inspired by a true story rooted in the scars of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, the song follows a mother who endured the devastating loss of most of her family. Even more profoundly, when he completed his prison sentence, she welcomed him back. Not with resentment, but as a friend… as a brother.
