If I have God's peace, why am I so stressed? Moments that Matter, Christian Questions


Christians should NOT be wishing for stress-free lives! Why? Wouldn’t no stress make worshipping God easier? Perhaps, but our lives are supposed to be transformation focused, transforming from sinful humans following sinful desires to spiritually minded disciples following in Jesus’ footsteps.

In a recent podcast we observed that a growing and maturing agenda always produces stress. This is good! Positive stress provokes Christlikeness. It is negative stress that batters and bruises our hearts and minds. Negative stressors bring us worry, anxiety, doubt, fear, and rationalization. So how can we have just positive stresses in life?

The challenge is that all of our experiences, tests and opportunities can become positive or negative stressors. It’s not the experience that needs changing, it’s how we process the experience that determines what level of positive or negative stress our lives hold.
