How to Think About Power Structures and Handle Power Plays - David McIlroy

What is power? What does political and social power look like? How should disciples of Christ view and use power? This session explores how the ideas of subsidiarity and sphere sovereignty can help us to identify and shape healthy power structures. We discuss how, as Christians, we can use our own power for good and not use it to cause harm and to discuss what we should do in the face of power that is doing harm.

David McIlroy is a practising barrister in the UK and Ireland. He is a Global Distinguished Professor at the University of Notre Dame (USA) in England. He is convinced that justice matters enormously to God, and that God wants Christians to work hard to see justice done more and more in situations around the world.
