A healthy marriage is a happy marriage. Think about sharing quality time, doing things for one another, encouraging each other, giving to each other and intimacy. We’d all love to have these things, but how do we do it? How do we build our marriages up to this level of strength?

In a recent podcast we observed that there’s an unfortunate equation that traps and limits many marriages. Work stress plus responsibility, multiplied by financial challenges plus social media multiplied by digital entertainment equals no time and little desire left to strengthen our marriages. We’re trapped by the tangle and drain of simply living everyday life.

There is a better way, and it begins with self-assessing. The responsibility for making your marriage better lands squarely on your shoulders. But wait, aren’t marriages “give and take, back and forth”? Yes, absolutely they are! However, positive change always begins with ME taking the first small steps. regardless of what my spouse may do.
