How do we know Jesus is the promised Messiah (Pt. 2)? Moments that Matter, Christian Questions
As we discussed in our last episode, the Old Testament word for messiah is only translated as “Messiah” twice. In spite of this, exploring many Old Testament prophecies showed us, this chosen one is the primary subject of countless prophecies. Though rarely described as “Messiah”, he is THE central focus of God’s entire plan for humanity.
In a recent podcast we observed messianic prophecies beginning in early Genesis, when God proclaimed the penalties for sin to Adam, Eve and Satan. The “seed of the woman” crushing the head of the serpent Satan, begins the revealment of messiah. These prophecies continue right through the last chapter of Malachai, the Old Testament’s last book.

Even more amazing is how these prophesies are interlocked. Because Messiah is described in so many different ways we can research from prophetic writing to prophetic writing and author to author and trace even greater depths of meaning.
These prophecies also powerfully verify Jesus as the one and only messiah. Skeptics say, Jesus could have scripted his experiences to fit them. However, the sheer magnitude of prophecies Jesus fulfilled makes this accusation impossible.
