How Are Great Opportunities Destroyed By Small Decisions? CQ Podcast Highlight
Jonathan :
Wow. We have a quote from the Life Application Study Bible. Great opportunities are often destroyed by small decisions. Jeroboam recognizes the need for God and the need for following God's law. But his recognition does not bring him comfort or claiming God's blessing. Instead, it brings him fear and doubt.
Rick :
So you have him recognizing, well, the people are supposed to go to the southern part of this kingdom because that's what God said, but that's a problem for me. Okay, that's a real problem for me. I don't like the fact that the people have to go where God said they have to go. Now, I know he didn't say that, but that's what essentially he's talking about. I don't want it to be this way, because then they're going to want to be with that king instead of me. Now think about that. Just let that sink in for a second and just understand the disaster that is now beginning to build. What do subtle fear and doubt always produce? They produce rationalized God- dishonoring conclusions. Rationalized God-dishonoring conclusions.
