Healing Wounds and Moving Forward with Scotty Hasting

Country music artist Scotty Hasting lived a whole other life before finding his place on the stage: he bravely served in Afghanistan, receiving a Purple Heart after surviving life-threatening injuries during his time there. Picking up a guitar for the first time in 2020, Scotty embraced music as a way to cope with the aftermath of war—including a struggle with PTSD and depression. His pursuit for peace turned into a passion for country music, and Scotty found himself signed as an artist with Black Label Records. Since then, he has written and performed all around the country, sharing stages with such iconic artists as Tanya Tucker, Jelly Roll, and Dave Grohl. Scotty shares the story of his time in the service, and how faith and his guitar became his lifeline.
