He had told Elijah to go to the brook Cherith, and there, he made the ravens bring Elijah food every day. But one day, the brook dried up. That was God’s way of getting Elijah’s attention. His season at Cherith was ending, and God told Elijah to go to Zarephath, where he would provide for him through a widow.
