Judges 11 | CIRCUMSTANCES YOU NEVER CHOSE

There are things about YOUR life that YOU never got a vote on.

The family YOU were born into. The name that got attached to YOU before YOU could speak. The story that was already being told about YOU by the time YOU were old enough to hear it. YOU did not choose the circumstances — and yet YOU have been paying for them, explaining them, and carrying them as if YOU did.

That is where Judges 11 begins.

This passage opens with someone whose entire rejection was built on something they had no control over. Not a choice they made. Not a mistake they committed. Not a failure they were responsible for. Something that was decided before they ever entered the room — the circumstances of where they came from — was used to push them out of everything they should have belonged to.

And the people who used it against them were completely certain it disqualified them.

They were wrong.

Here is what most people never discover about the circumstances they never chose — the very thing that was used to limit YOU does not have the authority to define YOU. What people build their rejection of YOU on is not the same as what God builds YOUR future on. And the gap between those two things is where this entire message lives.

Because what happened to the person in this passage — after they were pushed out, after the circumstances they never chose were held against them, after everyone had already decided who they were — is the reason this story is still being told thousands of years later.

The circumstances did not get the final word.

There is a specific moment in this passage — when the very people who used YOUR circumstances against YOU come back needing exactly what they rejected — that reveals something about how God turns the thing that was meant to disqualify YOU into the thing that positions YOU. Most people never stay in faith long enough to see that turn.

This message is about what happens when YOU do.
