Fruit That Lasts | Your Nightly Prayer

How do you decide whether you had a “good” day?
How much you accomplished?

How many tasks you finished?
Whether your work produced visible results?
We live in a world that often measures fruitfulness by productivity. But tonight’s Your Nightly Prayer asks us to consider a different question:
What are you producing that will actually last?

Tonight’s Scripture
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last…” — John 15:16
God’s definition of fruitfulness goes deeper than accomplishment.
Sometimes lasting fruit grows slowly.
It develops as we study Scripture and actually live it.
It grows when we pray.
When we serve.
When we share the Gospel.
When we encourage another believer.
When we plant a seed of truth in someone’s life and trust God with what happens next.
Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 3 that one person may plant and another may water—
but God makes it grow.
That means you don’t have to manufacture every result.
Your responsibility is faithfulness.
God handles the growth.
And Galatians 5 reminds us that some of the most meaningful fruit may be forming inside us:
Love.
Joy.
Peace.
Patience.
Kindness.
Goodness.
Faithfulness.
Gentleness.
Self-control.
Tonight, don’t measure your life only by what you finished.
Ask instead:
What is God growing through my faithfulness?
🙏 Where might God be asking you to plant or water right now?
You can simply pray:
“Father, grow in me fruit that will last.”
