That is almost impossible to believe while YOU are in the middle of the hard thing. The pit felt pointless. The betrayal felt like pure loss. The years that got taken from YOU, the doors that closed, the seasons that made no sense — they felt like time YOU would never get back, suffering with no purpose attached to it. But Genesis 41 reveals something that reframes every hard thing YOU have ever survived.
It was all preparation for a moment YOU could not see yet.
Someone had spent years being broken by one thing after another — sold, betrayed, lied about, imprisoned, forgotten. Every season stripped something away. And from the inside, it looked like a life going nowhere but down. Then, in a single day, everything changed. He was pulled out of the lowest place he had ever been and brought to stand in front of the most powerful person in the land — for the one thing no one else could do.
Here is what most people miss.
The very skill that opened the door in that room was something he had learned in the pit. The character that made him trustworthy with an entire nation was forged in the years of injustice. The humility that came out of his mouth in the biggest moment of his life — the thing he said when he could have taken all the credit — was built in seasons where he had nothing and no one but God. Every hard place had been teaching him something the moment would require. Nothing he survived was random. All of it was rehearsal for a role he did not even know was coming.
What broke him was building him.
And in one day, he went from the bottom to a position so high that only one person in the entire kingdom ranked above him. The prison clothes came off. Everything that had been taken was restored and multiplied. And it happened so fast that anyone watching would have called it luck — but it was not luck. It was preparation meeting
