Dragonfly - Jonathan Ogden (Lyric Video)

Dragonfly, a song of love and loss. Of a heart caught in the tension of letting go and still wanting to hold on. A song of fond memories of the past and a bittersweet but hopeful future.

I paired this lyric video with my photography from the past few years. Each image explores the contrast of light and shadow - it was only in the last couple of years that these photos started to hold more meaning for me - because not only was this contrast something I was drawn to visually, but it started to feel a lot a mirror for my life. The past few years have been marked by grief: losing both of my parents, going through a heartbreak, and being forced to confront my own darkness and the things I’d kept away from the light. My photography, in an attempt to try and capture the fleeting and temporary moments, became a way for me to mark the significant milestones too.
