Does my life have a motivating vision? Moments that Matter, Christian Questions

The prophet Habakkuk had a problem. His vision of his world focused on an overwhelming fear of Israel being overrun by the powerful heathen nations around them. In a recent podcast we observed how he laid his fearful vision before God. God’s answer was that his fears would be realized, but God’s vision would win in the end. As a prophet, Habakkuk needed to watch, write and relay God’s message so others could understand God’s eventual victory.

We like Habakkuk can be easily overwhelmed with the world around us and feel lost when it comes to coping with the unknowns of life. We too can find peace and direction, but only by finding a powerful and compelling vision as he did. Habakkuk’s vision required him to abandon his old ways and adopt an entirely new perspective. This meant acting not in fear, but in faith.
