Does biblical truth really make us free? Part 2 Moments that Matter, Christian Questions
In part 1 of this 2-part series we were introduced to Howie Clare from New Zealand and his true story of being abandoned by his wife of 12 years. Tough stuff! Like it or not, trauma changes our lives. We can choose and pursue how we want our changed life to unfold. Unfortunately this is where many give up. We accept living in the shadow of our trauma and only ever catch glimpses of life under the warmth of the sun.
In a recent podcast we observed Howie’s determination to “press into God” for answers. The price for freedom from his tragedy was change. Freedom in Christ required embracing a level of Christian living and spiritual focus that he had never before experienced.

This process required Howie to examine and challenge what he had been taught in church. Why? Jesus said, discipleship requires us to continue in his word and then have freedom in truth. Howie realized this meant personal Bible study and not just listening and being taught. Freedom in Christ is not a feeling it’s the result of Christian maturity.
What biblical truths did Howie begin to question and come to a new understanding? How did he gain strength through Christ in his new life? For the answers to these questions listen to the full podcast:
