Do I really have to love my enemies? Christian Questions, Moments that Matter

Jesus said, “Love your enemies!” If I proclaim to be a Christian, I need to follow that teaching. Ok, so what does loving my enemies even mean? Should I try to be their best friend? Does it mean that there are no consequences for their wrongs and hurt they have caused?

In a recent podcast we observed, the short answer to these questions is no. The fundamental truth we need to grasp is what loving our enemy means. Jesus described this love, AND he also showed us how to live it. We have both his words and his actions to learn from!

When Jesus said “love your enemies” he also said, “do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you” and “pray for those who mistreat you.” Ok, this is a lot! Once again, the question arises; how do we do that?
