Do you ever overlook the pure, divine nature of Jesus?

"And he was transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun and his clothes became white as light" (Matthew 17:2). Jesus, fully man and fully God, revealed the pure glory of His divine nature. And as He shone like the sun, the disciples heard the voice of God as He said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him" (Matthew 17:5). At the pure glory of His true, divine presence, they fell on their faces before Him.

Friend, in our busyness and routines of our Catholic faith, how often do we overlook the pure glory of Jesus Christ? Do we ignore Him in our sin and shame? Do we listen to Him?

If we only knew the incredible power of His glory each time we turn to Him in prayer, we would fall on our faces before Him.

And His tender and soft voice speaks the same words to us as He spoke to His dear friends: "Rise, and do not be afraid."
