Did Jesus live a scripted life? Christian Questions, Moments that Matter
Did Jesus do the things he did for the purpose of fulfilling Old Testament prophecies just as a show, to gain followers and create a movement? These questions can be emphatically answered by examining just a few of the hundreds of prophecies that Jesus actually fulfilled in his life.
Let’s begin with his birth: Isaiah said he would be born of a virgin. This was obviously not a self-directed event. Micah said He would be born in Bethlehem this was fulfilled by way of Roman census laws.
As an adult, Zechariah prophesied that he would enter Jerusalem triumphantly on a donkey. While Jesus secured the donkey, he could not force the crowd’s reaction.
Other prophecies told us that He would be betrayed by a friend for 30 pieces of silver, be mocked at his crucifixion and be buried with honor, all things beyond his reach.
How do we know Jesus wasn't just reading the Old Testament and purposely fulfilling prophecy? How do we know Jesus is the promised Messiah? For and answers to these questions and supporting scriptures listen to the full podcast:
