Hey guys! Tonight we’re celebrating Beckett’s 15th birthday. Being born on such a heavy day is no picnic. Our country mourns the death of so many precious lives lost and for many in my generation the end of our innocence. Colt and I both remember vividly where we were on 9/11/01. Ten years later on September 11th, we experienced another life altering day. Our baby boy, Beckett was born. He was just shy of 10lbs. and the sweetest, coziest, most easy-going baby that I’ve ever seen. His young life is a constant reminder to me that two things can be true at the same time. The world can be tumultuous, violent and feel uncertain. But just when you think the darkness is winning, a baby is born. You hold him all curled up in his first little onesie. You see the look on his big brother’s face when he touches him for the first time. You watch his grandparents marvel at all the ways he reminds them of their baby. And you realize the world is never going to be all bad or all good. And it makes you appreciate each moment for exactly what it is. That’s what Beckett’s life reminds me of everyday, and we’re so thankful he was born. Tonight’s song is in celebration of our boy who was just what we needed. 😊 His best pals, Adam, Thatcher and Sawyer even stopped in to sing backup vocals.
