Best Tea For Health Benefits

Hello, and welcome! I’m Annette Reeder from The Biblical Nutritionist, and today I’m excited to answer your questions about the best teas for health benefits. We receive so many inquiries regarding tea, particularly from those dealing with health challenges such as cancer or autoimmune conditions. It’s truly amazing how God’s creation, like tea, contains so many healing properties. So, let’s dive into your questions!

Now, on to the questions!

1. What Are Your Thoughts on Roasted Dandelion Tea and Cancer?
This question comes from Suzy, and it's a great one! Dandelion tea is known for its numerous health benefits, especially its impact on cellular health. Cancer is essentially a mutation of cells, and the environment of these cells plays a crucial role in how they develop. Dandelion tea can positively affect the extracellular matrix—the fluid between cells—and when we change this cellular environment, cancer cells are less likely to remain malignant. So, while it may not directly cure cancer, it can help create an environment where the cancer cells are less harmful.
2. Can I Drink Tea if I’ve Had a Kidney Stone Attack?
Terri asked this question, and I completely understand your concern. Kidney stones are often linked to oxalates, which are found in black tea. Doctors typically recommend avoiding black tea if you've had kidney stones. However, herbal teas are oxalate-free, so you can still enjoy a variety of teas without worry. Chamomile, rooibos, and peppermint are great options to consider!

3. Is Long-Steeped Tea Bad for You Due to Tannins?
Lydia asked about steeping tea for long periods, and whether this could be harmful due to tannins. The ideal steeping time for most teas is between 3-5 minutes to ensure you get the maximum nutritional benefits without overloading on tannins. While some teas may vary, sticking to the recommended steeping time ensures you enjoy the health benefits without adverse effects.
