Every successful marriage needs love. We “fall in love” and develop a powerful connection. We get married. Maybe we have kids, careers, sickness or loss. Maybe we grow apart. We wake up one day and realize that our once seemingly indestructible connection is blurred or foggy. Is it over?

In a recent podcast we observed that it doesn’t have to be. Perspective is everything. Our natural and emotional feelings of pain, sorrow and regret can easily bring us to a disastrous end. There is another way. We need to ask ourselves a door opening and revitalizing question.

Is the glass half empty or is the glass half full? “Glass half empty” viewpoints mean we’re framing them as a loss. Once framed this way, it’s difficult to reframe them as a gain, as the glass being half full. How can we make this paradigm shift? What does the Bible say?
