Beginning October in God's Peace | Your Nightly Prayer
Your Daily Prayer
Are you entering October already thinking about everything that could go wrong?
The bills.
The holidays coming.
Your children's needs.
Work.
Health.
Family.
Winter expenses.
Sometimes a new month arrives, and our minds race ahead before we've even had a chance to live it.
Tonight's Your Nightly Prayer is an invitation to begin October differently.
What does Isaiah 26:3 mean?
Isaiah 26:3 says:
“You will keep in perfect peace, those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
Biblical peace doesn't require knowing everything will go according to plan.
Instead, Isaiah connects peace with a mind that remains anchored in God.
That doesn't mean worries never appear. It means when our thoughts wander into tomorrow's uncertainties, we continually bring them back to what we know about God's character.
You don't need to carry all of October tonight.
You don't need to solve Christmas.
You don't need to anticipate every expense.
You don't need answers for situations that haven't happened yet.
Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us that God's mercies are new every morning.
Tomorrow has mercy waiting for you that you don't need tonight.
So begin this month one day at a time.
When your mind races ahead, bring it back.
When worry gets loud, return to what is true.
When October feels overwhelming, remember:
God is already there.
🙏 What worry about the month ahead do you need to give God tonight?
Pray:
“God, keep my mind anchored in You. Help me receive today's peace instead of carrying tomorrow's worries.”
