A Prayer to Remember God Is in the Great Outdoors | Your Daily Prayer
Do you ever feel especially close to God outside?
Maybe it happens on a hiking trail.

By the ocean.
Under a tree.
Watching a sunrise.
Or standing beneath a sky full of stars.
In today’s Your Daily Prayer, Lia Girard reflects on the way nature can awaken awe and worship.
Jesus often taught and ministered outside—in fields, on hillsides, along roads, beside water, and in gardens.
And Acts 17:24 reminds us:
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.”
That doesn’t make church buildings unimportant.
And it doesn’t mean creation itself is divine.
But it does remind us that God is not confined to walls.
We can pray in a sanctuary.
We can worship on a trail.
We can read Scripture beside the water.
We can gather with other believers in a home, a park, or a church building.
Wherever we are, creation can point us back to the Creator.
So next time you step outside, slow down.
Notice the wind.
The sky.
The light.
The living things around you.
And let them become reminders to worship the One who made them.
🙏 Today’s Prayer:
“God, help me notice Your handiwork all around me. Whether I’m inside a church or outside beneath the sky, draw my attention back to You and teach me to worship You with gratitude.”
