A Prayer to Recommit Your Marriage | Your Daily Prayer
What if recommitting to your marriage isn't something you do once?
What if it's something you choose again today?

In today's Your Daily Prayer, Laura Bailey shares a conversation with her grandmother that changed the way she thought about marriage.
Laura admitted that while she always loved her husband, there were certainly days when she didn't particularly like everything he did. 😅
Her grandmother laughed and gave her a simple piece of advice:
“Every day, choose to recommit to your marriage.”
That doesn't mean pretending frustration isn't real.
It doesn't mean avoiding hard conversations.
And it doesn't mean one spouse should tolerate abuse, danger, or harmful behavior in the name of commitment.
Instead, for a healthy marriage, daily recommitment can look like:
Assuming the best before pouncing.
Listening before defending.
Serving instead of scorekeeping.
Apologizing quickly.
Choosing humility over pride.
And asking:
“Am I treating my spouse from the mindset of Christ—or only from the frustration of this moment?”
Romans 12:3 reminds believers not to think of ourselves more highly than we should.
And Philippians 2 points us toward the humility of Jesus.
That doesn't erase our needs.
It reshapes the posture we bring into the relationship.
Marriage isn't strengthened only through grand romantic moments.
Often, it's strengthened through ordinary daily choices to love well.
🙏 Today's Prayer:
“Jesus, help me choose humility, patience, service, and grace in my marriage today. When I'm frustrated, help me pause before blaming and love my spouse in a way that reflects You.”
