Who was Laura talking to?
God.
For years, Laura wondered whether her blunt honesty with God was irreverent. Then she encountered the prophet Habakkuk.
Habakkuk begins his conversation with God:
“How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen?” — Habakkuk 1:2
That's not a polished prayer.
It's an honest one.
Scripture repeatedly shows people bringing God their grief, questions, frustration, fear, confusion, and praise.
And Psalm 139:4 reminds us that God already knows our words before we speak them.
So what are we hiding?
Honest prayer doesn't mean approaching God without reverence.
It means we don't have to pretend with Him.
Bring the frustration.
Bring the questions.
Bring the disappointment.
Bring the praise too.
God already knows what's in your heart.
Prayer is a place where you can finally say it.
