I make more money.

I get the promotion.

I reach that goal.

I have the relationship or family I imagined.

I finally feel financially secure.

I accomplish enough.

But somehow, enough keeps moving.

In today's Your Daily Prayer, Vivian Bricker shares an honest realization that came after a friend asked about her life's passion.

Vivian's immediate answer was serving Jesus.

But when she looked more closely at what was driving her daily life, she discovered something else underneath: the pursuit of financial security and success.

Having grown up in poverty, the fear of returning to it had quietly shaped the way she approached work and money.

Her reflection leads us to 1 Timothy 6:6:

“But godliness with contentment is great gain.”

There's nothing wrong with working hard, planning wisely, earning money, or wanting financial stability.

The question is:

What has your heart?

Contentment doesn't mean you stop growing, planning, working, or dreaming.

It means those things no longer determine whether your life is enough.

Today, take inventory of what God has already given you.

A sunrise.

A friend.

A meal.

A person you love.

Another morning.

Another opportunity to know Him.

Maybe peace isn't waiting on the other side of finally having more.

Maybe God wants to teach us how to recognize enough right here.
