A Prayer for Transformation from the Inside Out | Your Daily Prayer

You still react in ways you regret.

You still wrestle with temptation.

And sometimes you wonder:

Shouldn't I be further along in my faith by now?

In today's Your Daily Prayer, Emily Rose Massey reflects on looking through old photographs as her oldest son turned eleven.

As she saw how much her children had grown, she realized something else:

God had been growing her too.

Scripture calls this process sanctification.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, Paul writes:

“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through… The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.”

Spiritual transformation rarely happens overnight.

Sometimes it's difficult to recognize from one day to the next.

But God is faithfully at work.

As we surrender to Him, spend time in His Word, pray, obey, serve, repent, and walk with other believers, the Holy Spirit continues transforming us to become more like Christ.

That doesn't mean Christians become perfect in this life.

Our hope isn't found in achieving flawless spiritual performance.

Our hope rests in Christ and His finished work.

So don't measure God's work in your life only by how far you still have to go.

Sometimes it's worth looking back and noticing how far He's already brought you.

🙏 Pray with us:

“Father, when I'm discouraged by how much growing I still have to do, help me recognize Your faithful work in me and keep surrendering to the transformation You desire.”
