A Prayer for the Homeschool Family | Your Daily Prayer

Homeschool moms, do you ever finish a difficult lesson and wonder:

Am I actually doing enough?

Your child complained.

You lost your patience.

The lesson took twice as long as expected.

Someone cried.

Maybe it was you. 😅

And suddenly you're questioning whether you're equipped for any of this.

In today's Your Daily Prayer, Emily Rose Massey shares a phrase her family uses:

“School is not our life, but it is a part of our life.”

Not every part of homeschooling is exciting.

Some lessons are difficult.

Some days require perseverance.

And sometimes the person God is teaching through homeschool isn't only the child.

It's the parent too.

Emily turns to 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24:

“May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely… He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.”

Christian parents can faithfully teach.

Guide.

Correct.

Encourage.

Apologize.

Pray.

And begin again.

But we cannot transform our children—or ourselves—through sheer effort.

God does the deepest work.

For homeschool families, that means the difficult moments can become opportunities to grow together.

Patience.

Perseverance.

Forgiveness.

Humility.

Grace.

And sometimes simply learning how to try again tomorrow.

Homeschooling doesn't need to look perfect to become meaningful.

And one difficult school day is not evidence that you're failing.

🙏 Today's Prayer:

“Father, when I feel ill-equipped to teach my children, remind me that I don't have to do this in my own strength. Give me patience when we're frustrated, wisdom when something isn't working, humility when I need to apologize, and grace to begin again.”
