The phone calls stopped.
The funeral ended.
Everyone returned to their routines.
But Rachel's life had changed forever.
And somehow, there was still laundry to wash, groceries to buy, dinner to make, and another morning to face.
In today's Your Daily Prayer, Rachel reflects on King Jehoshaphat's overwhelming situation in 2 Chronicles 20.
Facing an army he couldn't defeat, Jehoshaphat prayed:
“We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
Then God told Judah:
“Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.” — 2 Chronicles 20:15
But they still had to get up.
They still had to walk out.
They still had to take their positions.
The battle wasn't theirs. But the showing up was.
Maybe you're facing grief.
Maybe you're exhausted from a situation that hasn't gotten better.
Maybe you're carrying something you cannot fix.
God isn't asking you to pretend it doesn't hurt or to manufacture strength you don't have.
Today, your act of faith might simply be taking the next step.
Getting out of bed.
Doing the laundry.
Calling someone.
Making dinner.
Praying one sentence.
You don't have to win the whole battle today. Trust God with the outcome and ask Him for strength for the next step.
