Heavenly Father,
On this Maundy Thursday, we gather in solemn remembrance
Of the Last Supper, where Your Son, Jesus Christ, shared bread and wine,
Instituting the sacrament of Holy Communion,
And demonstrating servitude in washing His disciples' feet.
As we reflect on the humility of Christ,
who knelt to wash the feet of his followers,
may we be inspired to serve one another with love and compassion,
following his example of selflessness and sacrifice.
Grant us the grace to embrace forgiveness,
as Jesus forgave those who betrayed and denied him,
teaching us the power of reconciliation and grace.
We pray for unity among believers,
For strength to serve our neighbors,
And for a heart that seeks to follow Jesus in all we do.
As we partake in the breaking of bread,
Let us remember the sacrifice of Your Son,
Who gave His life that we might have eternal life.
As we journey through this Holy Week,
may we be drawn closer to you, O Lord,
and may the spirit of Maundy Thursday
guide us to walk in the footsteps of Jesus,
always mindful of his love and teachings.
Bless us, O God, as we honor the sacred mysteries of this Holy Thursday.
Guide us through the darkness of Good Friday,
And lead us into the hope and joy of Resurrection Sunday.
