A Black Woman’s Response to Former President Obama’s Lecture to Black Men

Hey everyone! Today, I want to share my thoughts on President Obama’s "unacceptable" speech in Pittsburgh. As a Black woman, I couldn’t help but feel for the young Black men in the room. His comments on racial justice and unity didn’t reflect the reality of their struggles. Instead of speaking to their lived experiences or uplifting them, he offered a surface-level take that felt out of touch. These young men are facing so much—systemic racism, economic challenges, and pressures from every direction—and to be lectured in that way felt dismissive.
