A Prayer for Fourth of July<br />
<br />
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. <br />
<br />
Gracious Lord, It's the 4th of July and we are celebrating the Independence day of our country The United States of America.<br />
On this day, we celebrate our nation’s birth and the symbol of freedom it represents to many. <br />
We stand today as our forefathers have stood before You in times gone by, Celebrating our history and revelling in all the great things that our country has achieved. <br />
We bow our knees and our hearts in thanksgiving to You for preserving us.<br />
We acknowledge that you have been the author of this nation and that it is your great faithfulness that has brought us this far. <br />
Heavenly Father, We thank you for this Nation, Our beloved country.<br />
We thank you for the freedom we enjoy daily. We thank You for the blessings of liberty, for this generation and for the generations to come. <br />
May we never take the liberties that we have been given, the freedom that we have been given, for granted.<br />
<br />
We thank you for the countless men and women who have sacrificed their lives on the battlefield to secure the freedoms and blessings that we now enjoy.<br />
May we remain humble and conscious of the blessings we have received, because of the sacrifices made by them.<br />
<br />
We thank you for the food you provide for us to eat, for the clothes that we wear, and for the roof over our heads.<br />
We thank you for the opportunities that we have, to work, study, and play.<br />
We thank you for teachers who work tirelessly to educate the next generation of our nations’ citizens and leaders.<br />
<br />
We thank you for friendships that enrich our lives and for families and loved ones who love us unconditionally.<br />
Thank you, Lord, for the privilege of living in this great country where we have freedom to openly worship you. <br />
May we never take that privilege for granted, but always guard it and treasure it. <br />
<br />
Sovereign Lord, we lift up our nation to You. You have blessed us and established us since the beginning. <br />
You have been our shield and our covering of protection. You have made us a great nation on this earth.<br />
<br />
Gracious Lord, we also lift up all who are in office in this country, all who are in positions of authority.<br />
We pray that You would protect them and give them wisdom, knowledge and acute discernment for the jobs that they hold. <br />
Father, we ask that you guide every decision they make. May they lead us with wisdom, humility, and grace.<br />
Give our leaders and us humility and respect for one another. <br />
When our leaders have different opinions and agendas, help them find common ground and find ways to compromise. <br />
Help our leaders to be mutually supportive of one another.<br />
We also lift up our military, our intelligence agencies and all who are in law enforcement and pray for Your protection over them. <br />
Establish their steps, Lord. Strengthen them and equip them. Bless them and their families.<br />
As we celebrate this Fourth of July, we also remember the millions of people in our nation, and around the world, who are suffering from poor health, sickness, lack of food, who are homeless, who are unemployed, who are lonely and depressed. <br />
Kindly Keep them under your loving protection always, Heal them with Your Blessed hands and May we never forget to continue to think of, pray for, and love them as ourselves.<br />
We also pray that we are sensitive to those around us who are in need, and may our hearts be quick to help when we have the means to do so.<br />
Father bless our Nation with Your peace. May Your love flow through each one of us, and may we never forget to give You thanks, always.<br />
May justice flow like rivers, And righteousness like a never failing stream, Until the whole of our country is covered with Your glory, As the waters cover the sea. <br />
We ask all this in the wonderful name of Jesus, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit. Amen.<br />
