Have you ever been down to your last? You didn't know where the next dollar was coming from. If that is where you are today — this message was prepared for you.
In 1 Kings 17, a widow was preparing the very last meal for herself and her son. A handful of flour. A little oil. She was convinced it was the end. Then God sent a prophet to her door — and everything changed.
"For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth." — 1 Kings 17:14 (KJV)
Let these words resonate within your heart today. God made a promise over a handful of flour and a little oil — and He kept it. Take comfort in this — God is not looking at how much you have. He is looking at whether you trust Him with what little you have. The barrel did not run out. The oil did not fail. MANY DAYS. He did not just meet her need — He sustained her through an entire season of famine.
"And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she and he, and her house, did eat many days." — 1 Kings 17:15 (KJV)
Understand this — the miracle was locked inside the act of obedience. She had to give FIRST before God multiplied. No matter how little you have and no matter how desperate it looks — God will PROVIDE. The barrel will not run out. The oil will not fail.
May this teaching from 1 Kings 17 fill your heart with faith and remind you that God will provide for YOU no matter what. Thank you for joining me today. Subscribe for daily teachings, morning prayer broadcasts, and live services.
