Did Jesus teach us that we are all unprofitable servants? Christian Questions, Moments that Matter
Christian Questions
The parable of the unworthy servant was the sixth and last of a series of stories. Jesus had been speaking to the “undesirable” tax collectors and sinners, the Pharisees and scribes and his disciples all together. In a recent podcast we observed that these dramatic stories would encourage the “undesirables, anger the “elites” and humble his disciples.

The unworthy servant parable was spoken directly to his disciples and seems to come across as downright discouraging. He seems to be saying, ‘You are God’s servants and He’s given you a long list of chores. Just do your work, and don’t expect thanks because that’s your job!’ Is this the message Jesus meant to get across?

Absolutely not!
