His grief-stricken father refused to be comforted, his guilt-ridden brothers couldn't escape the shame of what they had done, and Joseph himself faced the horror of a life of slavery in Egypt. Instead of choosing to despair, Joseph chose to surrender his life fully to the God of his father and therein lay the secret of his remarkably successful life.
