When the Same Battle Keeps Returning, God Still Hears You

Are you fighting a battle that keeps coming back?

Maybe it is a diagnosis that changes again.

An addiction that resurfaces.

A marriage that begins to heal and then breaks open again.

A fear that returns just when you thought you were finally moving forward.

Repeated battles can leave us exhausted, discouraged, and unsure how much more we can carry.

Psalm 116 gives voice to that kind of pain:

“The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the LORD: ‘LORD, save me!’” — Psalm 116:3–4

And the psalmist begins with this assurance:

“I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy.” — Psalm 116:1

God hearing us is not a consolation prize.

It is a promise.

Even when the answer is not what we wanted, His presence in the battle matters.
