This Sabbath Argument Makes NO Sense
Some Christians argue that Jesus never broke the “principle” of the Sabbath, but that believers are no longer required to keep the actual seventh-day Sabbath commandment. But does that logic really make sense?
In this video, we examine the difference between the “principle” of the law and the “letter” of the law. Jesus did not abolish God’s commandments—He revealed their deeper spiritual meaning. In Matthew 5, Jesus showed that adultery is not only a physical act, but also begins in the heart. But that does not mean the physical commandment no longer matters.
So why do some people apply that reasoning to the Sabbath? Can you really keep the principle of the fourth commandment while ignoring the actual commandment God gave?
The Bible says, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy” (Exodus 20:8). Jesus honored the Sabbath, taught on the Sabbath, and showed its true purpose. The Sabbath is not merely a vague principle of rest—it is part of God’s Ten Commandments.
Watch and decide for yourself: does this Sabbath argument make sense?
