NURSES PRAYER

Gracious and Loving Father, from whom all goodness flows, giver of all good things, I humbly come to You, with an open heart, Thanksgiving and prayers.
Today I offer myself to You, Loving Father, as You have chosen me to be a nurse and serve those who are sick and ailing.
Help me to be a dedicated and caring nurse, Abba Father.
Bless my hands and let them be competent and soothing to those who are in pain.

Let them feel Your Healing touch through my hands.
Give my ears the ability to listen patiently to the woes of the sick you have placed in my care.
Help me to be warm and professional while dealing with them.
Grant me patience as I comfort the sick and weak.
Bless the medicines and instruments in my hands.

Bless my spirit, so that I share the gift of hope and uplift those who feel hopeless and gloomy.
As I care for the patients, Lord Jesus, be with me.
Shower Your Blessings abundantly on them,
and help me to be alert at all times, towards their needs and see to it that there is not an inch of carelessness on my part.
Help me to be compassionate as I approach each hurting bed.
Heavenly Father, help me to be a nurse with gentle, healing hands, who always speaks with kindness, one who cares and understands.

Fill my lips with comforting and encouraging words.
When I am called upon to deal with irritations of patients, give me grace and wisdom to deal with them patiently.
Make me sensitive towards those that try to conceal their fears behind a mask of indifference.
Help me to be calm and serene, especially when I am at the bedside of patients who are in their most vulnerable moments.
Above all, Lord Jesus, give me strength for this selfless service.
And while I am serving others, help me to remember that I am truly serving You.
Let Your Love shine through in all that I do.
Help me to bring Comfort where there is pain, courage where there is fear, Hope where there is despair, and Acceptance when the end is near.
At times, when I feel down due to fatigue, You be my strength and help me go on in Faith.
And When my day is over, Lord Jesus, allow me to get sufficient rest, so that I remain strong and healthy to serve my patients.

I make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
