We live in an overstimulating world, and it is easy to become consumed by things we never meant to dwell on.

Philippians 4:8 offers a powerful way to redirect our attention:

“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

Paul wrote these words while under arrest.

He had every reason to fear, catastrophize, or dwell on injustice.

Instead, he chose where to focus his mind.

Today’s prayer asks God to help us do the same.

Not by pretending painful thoughts do not exist, but by learning how to bring them under the light of truth and intentionally dwell on what leads us toward peace.
