Have we lost our ability to honor one another? (Part I) Moments that Matter, Christian Questions

Honor in the New Testament is all about high level value. Definitions like “value” “precious” “revere” and “esteem” make it obvious that our giving of honor is a solemn exercise in respect which is seriously lacking in our world today.

In a recent podcast we observed one great example of this high-level respect is honoring the value of reputation. Gamaliel was a respected Pharisee. Even though the Pharisees didn’t have great reputations themselves, he individually stood above all that. His reputation came into play when Israel’s spiritual leaders were bent on killing the Apostle Peter and others for performing miracles and preaching. When Gamaliel reasoned with them, his reputation was so honored that his words changed the minds of that angry assembly.
