Prayer when feeling Sad
Life has its moments of happiness and sadness,
joy and pain.
Sometimes days are happy,
at times we feel sad and dejected.

Heavenly Father, today, my heart feels very heavy,
my body feels demotivated,
my spirit feels distraught,
my mind feels exhausted,
I feel weak and burdened with sadness.
I feel heartbroken,
as if my wick has been burned out.

There is nothing in my cup,
and my life feels so empty.
My soul feels beaten down,
and I am feeling tired,
not wanting to face the day.

Matthew chapter 11 verse 28 in the Bible says
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest."

Lord Jesus, here I am.
I am weak and heavy-laden
I am not sure, how to let you carry my heavy load,
so please show me how.

Take away all my worries,
sadness, burdens, stress, anxiety, depression,
everything that is making me down.
Loving and merciful God,
I need You today,
I acknowledge that I cannot do everything.

I surrender all my worries, doubts and sadness to You.

I depend on You, Lord Jesus,
to help me, to guide me,
to protect me, to take care of me,
to take away all my sadness
and fill my heart with Your merciful Love.

I trust that You are always there for me,
you are listening when I cry.
I need You Lord Jesus, now more than ever.
This sadness in my heart
craves to find that wonderful joy, only You can give
and that peace which satisfies the soul.

Thank you for this day Lord Jesus,
even though it's not been the best day.
Show me how to cheer up.
Help me to be happy,
help me to see and remember
all of the good things,
You have blessed my life with.

I ask that You fill my heavy heart with hope at this time.
Comfort my heart,
give me strength and help me carry on.
Help me to praise you during the good times as well as bad times.
Lord Jesus, in your goodness,
help me to grow in faith and hope.
Help me to trust in the future,
help me to trust in Your plans for me.
I know your ways are perfect.

Deuteronomy chapter 31 verse 8 in the Bible says
"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you;
he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

Yes Lord Jesus,
I trust that You will always be there for me,
you will never leave me or forsake me.
Thank You Lord Jesus,
from the bottom of my heart,
for loving me, forgiving me,
healing me, and never leaving me.

I am not afraid,
I won't be discouraged anymore
because my Gracious Father has taken away all my burdens.
My heart feels overjoyed
and filled with your love and peace, Lord Jesus.
Thank You Jesus,
Praise You Jesus
