The Forgotten Council Before Nicaea

Before the bishops gathered at Nicaea, a smaller regional meeting set the stage — the Council of Antioch. Presided over by Hosius of Cordova, this council condemned Arianism, provisionally censured several bishops (including the historian Eusebius of Caesarea), and planned for what they thought would be the “great and priestly synod of Ancyra.” In this video, we explore how Antioch shaped the agenda, the unexpected change of location, and why Constantine moved the council to Nicaea.
