Is it God?

Here are 3 things I do to help me know when God is speaking to me:
1. Does it line up with God's word? Because God will never contradict His Word.
2. Do I have peace within my heart about what I feel God is telling me. God is the author of peace and His peace will always accompany what He tells me to do.
3. If the peace within is missing, then I seek God and wait for clarity on what He is asking me to do. I don't act until I know His mind concerning the situation.
